15.11.2016. Nautic Center. Roses

Beaucoup moins de vent qu’hier et beau soleil. Jens peint la coque de Maja, toujours en bleu et moi je ponce l’hélice. Puis je vais en ville faire une dernière balade en vélo. Je m’arrête parler avec une dame qui est toujours assise sur un banc sur la promenade, sous un parasol, et qui tricote tout le temps. Elle vend ce qu’elle fait. Puis je vais revoir les petits perroquets et arrive à prendre des photos de deux petits, au bord du trou qui sert d’entrée. Nous mangeons notre lunch au soleil, sur un petit bateau à l’envers. Jens travaille encore au bateau et je fais des finitions de lavage sur le marron de Maja. Puis je me mets au (long) blog d’hier. Diner dans le bateau, il fait froid quand le soleil se couche et nous faisons nos bagages après-diner. Jens a téléphoné à un taxi qui doit venir nous chercher demain matin à 8 h. J’espère que cela marche mieux ici qu’à Calvi.

Voilà, encore la fin d’une étape. Nous avons fait 2609 miles depuis Finike ou 4700 km. Nous redescendrons fin février ou début mars 2017. Et là il nous reste encore un grand morceau, toute la côte mediterranéenne d’Espagne, avec sans doute un détour par les Baléares, Gibraltar, longer la côte atlantique du Portugal et d’Espagne et remonter vers la Norvège. Et ce n’est pas évident parce que les vents sont surtout du nord quand nous, nous allons vers le nord, donc contre. Mais on a le temps et nous pouvons attendre les « fenêtres » qui arrivent à ceux qui savent attendre.

Much less wind today than yesterday and beautiful sun. Jens paints Maja’s hull in blue and I am sanding the propeller. Then I ride to town to make a last bike ride. I stop to talk with a lady who is sitting every day on a bench on the promenade, under a parasol, and knitting all the time. She sells what she is making. Then I go back to the little parrots and manage to take pictures of two small one standing at the edge of the hole that serves as entrance. We eat our lunch in the sun, sitting on a small boat upside down. Jens is still working on the boat in the afternoon and I finish washing Maja. Then I start the (long) blog of yesterday. Dinner in the boat, it's cold when the sun goes down and we pack our luggage after dinner. Jens telephoned a taxi to pick us up at 8 am tomorrow morning. I hope it works better here than in Calvi.

This is the end of a another part of the journey. We made 2609 miles from Finike or 4700 km. We come back at the end of February or beginning of March 2017. And then we still have a long way home, all the Mediterranean coast of Spain, with probably a detour by the Balearic Islands, Gibraltar, along the Atlantic coast of Portugal and Spain and up to Norway. And this is not so easy because the winds are mostly from the north and we go north, so it’s against the wind. But we have time and we can wait for the "windows" that allways come to those who have the patience to wait.
