05.11.2016 Port-Vendres

Temps changeant, alternativement gris et ensoleillé, vent assez fort, la Tramontane. Nous partons en vélo pour aller à Collioure, une petite ville à 4 km d’ici vers le nord. Mais nous nous arrêtons au marché d’abord et faisons quelques achats que Jens rapporte au bateau. Puis nous reprenons la route qui est agréable et longe la côte. Collioure est une très jolie ville, avec un petit port fortifié et une plage en ville. Jens se baigne, l’eau est à 17 ⁰, je crois que la saison est finie pour moi. Nous rentrons, mangeons le lunch puis allons encore faire des courses à Carrefour, ici, à Port Vendres. C’est notre dernière chance d’acheter français, si nous partons lundi en Espagne. Quand nous rentrons je me mets au blog et Jens se met à ses fourneaux il prépare un plat de poisson au four avec oignons, tomates et pommes de terre. Nous avons invité Philippe, le Suisse, à diner. Dans la soirée le vent redouble, et il se met à pleuvoir des cordes juste quand il arrive. Il nous raconte qu’il a assisté à une dispute conjugale sur le quai ce matin. L’homme a lancé une bouteille de bière sur la tête de sa femme qui s’est mise à saigner abondamment. Philippe est alors intervenu, a rassuré l’enfant qui assistait à tout cela et a téléphoné à la police. Coïncidence, il travaille avec des enfants maltraités en Suisse. Lui qui voulait prendre une pause de ce travail très prenant se retrouve en plein drame ici. Nous passons une bonne et longue soirée ensemble, puis vaisselle et au lit.

Changing weather, alternately gray and sunny, wind strong enough, the Tramontana. We go on bike to Collioure, a small town 4 km from here to the north. But we stop first at the market and do some shopping that Jens takes back to the boat. Then we take the road which is nice, along the coast. Collioure is a very pretty town with a small fortified port and a beach in the middle of the town. Jens bathes, the water is at 17 ⁰, I think the season is over for me. We go back, eat lunch and then go together shopping at Carrefour, here in Port Vendres. This is our last chance to buy French, if we leave Monday to Spain. When we return I start the blog and Jens starts cooking, he prepares a baked fish dish with onions, tomatoes and potatoes. We invited Philippe, the guy from Switzerland, to dinner. In the evening the wind become stronger, and it starts raining just when he is coming. He tells us that he saw a domestic dispute on the quai this morning. A man threw a beer bottle on the head of his wife, who began to bleed profusely. Philippe then intervened and comforted the child who witnessed all this and he phoned the police. Coincidentally, he works with abused children in Switzerland. He who wanted to take a break from this difficult work is caught in a drama here. We spend a good and long evening together, then washing up and to bed.
