22.02.2015 Marina del Este

Très beau temps. Gerardo arrive de Granada en fin de matinée. Il connait Maja parce qu’il est déjà venu à Bergen. Nous reprenons rapidement contact et sommes heureux d’être ensemble. Nous partons à pied et allons à Almuñécar en passant par la montagne puis par un chemin qui longe la mer. Nous avons une belle vue sur Marina del Este et sur la mer. Jens avait comme plan de revenir déjeuner au bateau mais quand on arrive à Almuñécar, il est 14 h passées et on a faim. Nous voulions déjeuner au Balcón de Cotobro mais c’est fermé, nous continuons donc jusqu’au Rinconcillo que nous appelions autrefois « trekanten » (le triangle). Nous déjeunons au soleil et il fait chaud. Puis nous revenons par le même chemin. On a bien marché, 3 h en tout. Gerardo nous quitte vers 18 h 30. Soirée tranquille au bateau mais vers 21 h, le vent se lève très rapidement et très fort. Normalement, le vent, ici, vient de l’est (el Levante, qui vient d’où le soleil se lève) ou de l’ouest (el Poniente, qui vient d’où le soleil se couche, se pone en espagnol). Mais ici dans le port, les claques viennent du sud donc sur le côté du bateau. Jens renforce les amarres. Maja gite par moment comme si on avait des voiles et bouge beaucoup. Le vent hurle et ce n’est pas agréable. J’essaye de m’absorber dans mon livre, mais je ne suis pas relaxe. Le vent est irrégulier, passant de force 0 à force 7 en 5 mn puis se calmant et recommençant. Cela dure jusqu’à 22 h 30 et le vent se calme pour de bon d’un coup. Nous sommes sur le point de nous coucher quand on entend un bateau qui rentre dans le port. C’est un voilier qui se met à une place. Il a du naviguer dans de dures conditions et être bien content d’arriver. On verra demain qui c’est.

Nice weather. Gerardo arrives from Granada around noon. He knows Maja because he's already been in Bergen. We take contact easily again and are happy to be together. We start off and walk to Almuñécar first up a mountain and then by a path along the sea. We have a beautiful view of Marina del Este and the sea. Jens had a plan, to return to the boat to eat lunch, but when we get to Almuñécar, it is after 2:00 pm and we are hungry. We wanted to have lunch at el Balcon de Cotobro but it is closed, so we continue to el Rinconcillo, that we used to call "Trekanten" (the triangle). We lunch in the sun and it's quite hot. Then we walk back by the same route. We have walked well, 3 hours in all. Gerardo leaves us at around 6:30 pm. Quiet evening in the boat but by 9 pm, the wind picks up very quickly and becomes very strong. Normally, winds, here, come from the east (el Levante, which is from where the sun rises) or west (el Poniente, which is from where the sun is setting, se pone in Spanish). But here in the harbor, the guts are from the south so on the side of the boat. Jens strengthens the moorings. Maja heels at times as if we had the sails and is moving a lot. The wind howls and it's not pleasant. I try to absorb myself in my book, but I'm not relaxed. The wind is irregular from force 0 to force 7 in 5 minutes and then calming down and starting again. It lasts to 10:30 pm and the wind calms for good suddenly. We're about to go to bed when we hear a ship enters the port. This is a sailboat that goes to a berth. He has navigated in harsh conditions and must be very happy to be in the harbor now. Tomorrow we'll see who it is.
