Temps de cochon: fort vent, force 5-6, et pluie, et cela va durer toute la journée. Nous partons à 7 h 45 et passons Sletta, la partie exposée, sans problème. C’est vrai que les vagues sont petites. Nous sortons au moteur de Feøy puis allons à la voile le reste du temps. Bon vent de ¾ arrière, parfait pour Maja, seulement avec le foc, nous allons à 5 nœuds. Le ferry de Bergen au Danemark nous double, le Stavangerfjord. Nous évitons bien la marque de Store Bloksen, un rocher où le 26 novembre 1999 le bateau rapide Sleipner reliant Haugesund à Bergen avait fait naufrage, 16 personnes étaient mortes. Je fais le blog en route. Puis nous rentrons dans les fjords, fini le large. Nous communiquons avec Nina pour savoir quand nous allons arriver demain, et nous nous mettons d’accord, ce sera à 17 h. Nous arrivons à Kolbeinshamn, un port de la commune de Austevoll à 17 h 15. Un voisin allemand vient prendre nos cordes, sympa sous cette pluie. Ankerdram puis, Jens insistant, petite promenade humide. Mon cher capitaine-cuisinier, a mis un gâteau au four avant d’aller marcher, donc on ne peut pas rester parti trop longtemps, il ne faut pas que le gâteau brûle… Nous invitons nos voisins allemands à venir manger le gâteau après diner. Ils sont trois mais seulement deux viennent, Stefen et Michael, Daniel, le capitaine ne se sent pas bien et ne vient pas. Ils ont navigué en Norvège, en Grèce et nous discutons bien, très bonne dernière soirée.

Really bad weather: strong wind, force 5-6, and rain. And it will be like that all day. We leave at 7.45 and pass Sletta, the exposed part, without problem. It is true that the waves are small. We motor out of Feøy then sail the rest of the time. Good wind of ¾ rear, perfect for Maja, only with the jib, we go at 5 knots. The ferry from Bergen to Denmark passes us, the Stavangerfjord. We avoid Store Bloksen, a rock where on November 26, 1999 the fast boat Sleipner going between Haugesund and Bergen sank, 16 people died. I make the blog en route. Then we enter the fjords and it’s finished with the open sea. We are communicating with Nina to find out when we are going to arrive tomorrow, and we agree, it will be at 5:00 pm. We arrive at Kolbeinshamn, a port on “Austevoll kommune” at 5:15 pm. A German neighbor comes to take our ropes, that’s very nice, it’s raining. Then Jens insists that we must go for a short walk. My dear captain-cook put a cake in the oven before the walk, so we can’t stay too long, the cake mustn’t burn ... We invite our German neighbors to come and eat the cake after dinner. They are three but only two come, Stefen and Michael, Daniel, the captain doesn’t feel well and doesn’t come. They sailed in Norway, in Greece and we discuss well, a very good last evening.

Très beau et très calme. Nous partons à 9h 15 sur une mer de velours et sous un beau ciel bleu. Nous continuons vers le nord, bien sûr, mais au lieu de passer à l’est de l’ile de Karmøy nous allons passer à l’ouest, profitant de ce temps calme. Nous voyons sur l’écran, par AIS, trois bateaux qui ont des noms avec « algue » ou tare qui veut dire aussi algue :Tare Viking, Busk Alg et Sjøalg. Nous pensons qu’ils récoltent des algues. A 13 h 30, un drôle de bruit dans l’hélice, c’est moi qui « barre » (en fait qui suis assise sur la chaise du capitaine, c’est le pilote automatique qui fait le travail). Je mets au point mort tout de suite et nous allons voir. Ce sont des algues qui sont entortillées autour de l’hélice. Jens met en avant, puis en arrière et le plus gros se détache, on voit qu’il en reste un peu mais l’hélice tourne bien et on continue. Nous décidons d’arrêter à Feøy, une ile au nord-ouest de Karmøy. Pour arriver au port, port naturel comme presque toujours ici, c’est un vrai labyrinthe mais bien marqué. Il faut passer un fjord étroit, suivre un chenal, passer sous un pont, tourner à gauche, passer un petit phare et enfin, on arrive. Et, luxe, il y a même un ponton pour les visiteurs. On paye en mettant 50 couronnes  (5 €) dans une enveloppe. Jens retire le reste des algues de l’hélice, ankerdram puis, surement pour la dernière fois, nous nous baignons (16 ⁰) et prenons même un court bain de soleil sur le bateau. Promenade sur l’ile, saluons les moutons et même une grenouille. Peu de maisons habitées et plusieurs personnes partent avec le ferry le soir. 30 habitants vivent ici et il y a une petite boutique. Nous dinons de deux maquereaux au four avec des légumes. C’est beau et bon. Puis nous déplaçons Maja, la météo prévoit vent et pluie cette nuit et demain. Nous la tirons au fond  du ponton, côté terre pour être plus à l’abri. Moi, je repartirais bien ce soir pour passer Sletta, une partie ouverte  et exposée avant de rentrer dans un fjord, mais Jens dit que même avec un vent fort cela va aller parce que le vent sera de sud-est, donc de terre et que les vagues seront petites. OK …

Very nice and quiet weather. We leave at 9:15 on a sea of ​​velvet and under a beautiful blue sky. We continue north, of course, but instead of passing east of the island of Karmøy we will pass to the west, taking advantage of this calm weather. We see on the screen, by AIS, three boats that have names with alg or tare that also means seaweed: Tare Viking, Busk Alg and Sjøalg. We think they are harvesting algae. At 1:30 pm, a strange noise in the propeller, I am the "helmsman" (actually I am sitting on the captain's chair, it's the autopilot that does the work). I put on neutral right away and we go and see. These are algae that are twisted around the propeller. Jens puts forward, then back and most of them go away, we see that it remains a little bit but the propeller turns well and we continue. We decide to stop at Feøy, an island north-west of Karmøy. To arrive at the harbor, a natural harbor as almost always here, it is a true labyrinth but well marked. We have to pass a narrow fjord, follow a channel, pass under a bridge, turn left, pass a small lighthouse and finally, arrive. And, luxury, there is even a pontoon for visitors. We pay by putting 50 crowns (5 €) in an envelope. Jens removes the rest of the algae from the propeller, ankerdram then, surely for the last time, we bathe (16 ⁰) and even take a short sun bath on the boat. Walk on the island, we say hello to the sheep and even to a frog. Few inhabited houses and several people leave with the last ferry at night. 30 inhabitants live here and there is a small shop. We dine of two baked mackerels with vegetables. It's beautiful and good. Then we move Maja, the weather forecast predicts wind and rain tonight and tomorrow. We pull her to the bottom of the pontoon, near land  to be more sheltered. I would like to leave tonight to pass Sletta, an open and exposed part before entering a fjord, but Jens says that even with a strong wind there won’t be any problem because the wind will be from south-east, so from land and that the waves will be small. OK …

Très calme, gris et doux. Nous partons à 9 h 40 et il se met à pleuvoir. Une toute petite houle d’ouest fait rouler notre Maja. A 11 h, nous passons à hauteur de Sirevåg, un petit port où nous avions passé quelques jours en 1987 à cause d’une panne de boite de vitesse sur Maja. Je fais des sudokus, Jens lit, c’est vraiment calme, la pluie s’arrête et il va faire beau. A 13 h 15, nous passons le phare de Obrestad qui ressemble à une église. Nous longeons Jæren, où la campagne est verte, cultivée et assez plate, c’est une des régions fertiles de Norvège. En face de Jæren, une marque indique où les bateaux doivent passer, bien au large. Le fond remonte brutalement de 400-500 m à 10-12 m et par fort vent d’ouest, les vagues sont dangereuses. Mais aujourd’hui, sans vent et avec une mer d’huile, nous pouvons « couper le fromage ». Jens pêche et nous aurons un bon diner de deux maquereaux tout frais. Nous arrivons à l’ile de Rott, presqu’en face de Stavanger à 17 h 15. Nous pensions qu’il y aurait d’autres bateaux de plaisance, mais il n’y a personne et le quai public a de la place. Et, surprise, nous arrivons en pleines festivités de mariage. Et pourtant, la population fixe n’est que de quatre habitants ! Nous allons nous promener et empruntons un fascicule mis à la disposition des visiteurs qui raconte l’histoire de Rott : naufrage, opération de sauvetage, arrivée de l’électricité (1950), quand l’école a fermé … Toute l’ile est décorée de drapeaux en l’honneur du mariage. Nous marchons bien, rentrons avec les pieds bien mouillés et dinons de nos maquereaux au soleil. Un homme vient nous demander de changer de place, de laisser le quai pour un bateau qui va venir chercher les invités du mariage à minuit. Nous le faisons. Je lui demande si c’est quelqu’un de l’ile qui se marie et il me répond que oui. Nous entendons le bateau arriver à 23 h 30 et ne l’entendons pas partir, nous dormons.

Very calm, gray and mild. We leave at 9:40 and it starts to rain. A tiny west swell makes our maja roll. At 11 am we pass Sirevåg, a small harbor where we had spent a few days in 1987 because of a gearbox failure on Maja. I do sudokus, Jens reads, it's really quiet, the rain stops and it's going to be nice. At 1:15 pm, we pass the lighthouse of Obrestad which looks like a church. We go along Jæren, where the countryside is green, cultivated and fairly flat, it is one of the fertile regions of Norway. In front of Jæren, a mark indicates where the boats must pass, well offshore. The bottom rises abruptly from 400-500 m to 10-12 m and when the wind is from west, the waves are dangerous. But today, without wind and with a sea of ​​oil, we can take a short cut. Jens is fishing and we’re going to have a good dinner of two fresh mackerels. We arrive at Rott Island, almost opposite Stavanger at 5:15 pm. We thought there would be other yachts, but there is no one and the public wharf has room. And, surprise, we arrive in full marriage festivities. And yet, the fixed population is only of four inhabitants! We go for a walk and borrow a booklet available to visitors that tells the story of Rott: shipwreck, rescue operation, arrival of electricity (1950), when the school closed ... All the island is decorated with flags in honor of the marriage. We walk well,  go back with wet feet, and eat our mackerels in the sun. A man comes to ask us to change places, to leave the dock for a boat that will come and pick up the wedding guests at midnight. We do that, and I ask him if it was someone from the island who got married and he said yes. We hear the boat arrive at 11:30 pm but don’t hear him leave, we are asleep.
